MOVIE BY BARBADIAN LOOKS AT CHALLENGES FOR REGIONAL INTEGRATION

Released last year and shown to largely appreciative regional and international audiences, the movie ON THE MAP by Barbadian visual artist Annalee Davis is a welcome addition to the ongoing discussion on the challenges of the sub-regional integration movement.
According to Ms. Davis's internet blog, the half hour documentary "examines current intra-regional migration with a focus on Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana."
"It explores", the statement of intent continues, " the views of residents of host countries, exposes institutional abuse and demonstrates gaps between the official stated and the actual experiences of unskilled Caribean migrants".
I was greatly honoured to be invited by Annalee (if I may use her first name having known her for several years) to the premiere showing of the movie in Barbados last December... keep reading
